Training FAQs

Programme, duration, fees, hands-on surgery and eligibility — the terms of the training itself.

These training answers are shown open so you can read the whole programme in one pass. The logistics questions — visa, hotel, airport pickup and daily transport — are collapsed below in Part 2.

Programme structure & duration

How long does the training take?
It depends on your CV. The standard programme runs from a minimum of 2 weeks up to 3 months. Doctors who want to go further can take the fellowship track, which runs 7 to 10 months. We can only confirm which is right for you once we've reviewed your background.
Why can't you just quote me a fixed duration and fee upfront?
Because duration is set by what you bring with us, not by us. Doctors with more relevant surgical background typically need less time to reach the same competency, while doctors starting from scratch need longer. Please send your CV and we'll recommend the programme, duration and fee that fits you.
Who decides how long I actually stay?
Duration is agreed mutually and reviewed weekly, based on your progress. A minimum of 1 month of live surgery observation is required before hands-on begins, and this can extend up to 3 months by mutual agreement — your fee doesn't change either way.
Can I split my training across more than one visit?
Yes. You can complete it in a single visit, or across two or three visits if that suits your schedule better. Either way, at least 1 month is required as a minimum, and splitting it doesn't affect your fee.
Is training one-to-one or in a group?
Live surgery demonstration and hands-on surgery are conducted one-to-one, with a maximum of 2 to 3 trainees in the operating room at any time. Lectures can be run in small groups where needed.

Fees

What does the base fee cover?

The base fee is 9 lac PKR (900,000 PKR). It covers the full theory curriculum and live surgery demonstrations. This fee is the same whether your training takes 1 month, 2 months, 3 months or longer — duration doesn't change the base fee.

PKR 900,000Base programme fee · 9 lac

Includes the complete theory curriculum and live surgery demonstrations. Duration — 1, 2, 3 months or longer — does not change this fee.

How is hands-on surgery charged?

Hands-on surgery is charged separately, per case, on top of the base fee:

Type of hands-on surgeryFee per case
Partial hands-on50,000 PKR / case
Full hands-on90,000 PKR / case
Full hands-on, on a patient you bring yourself70,000 PKR / case
How many hands-on cases will I need to pay for?

This is decided mutually once your partial hands-on work is complete, based on both your progress and the trainer's assessment. As a guide:

  • Partial hands-on generally requires more cases to build fundamentals.
  • Full hands-on is often 2–3 cases for most trainees, though some trainees need 5–7 full cases depending on their starting point and pace.
Does a longer stay cost more?
No. The base fee stays the same regardless of whether your programme runs 1, 2, 3 months or beyond. The only variable costs are hands-on cases, which are charged per case as above.

Hands-on surgery & curriculum

Will I actually operate on patients myself?
Yes. After a minimum of 1 month observing live surgery, you move into hands-on surgery yourself — first partial, then full cases — always under direct supervision.
Why is live surgery observation required before hands-on?
A minimum of 1 month of live surgery observation is a required step before any hands-on surgery begins. This can be extended up to 3 months by mutual agreement if more time is needed before you're ready to operate.
How does the caseload at Lahore compare to other clinics?
Most hair clinics elsewhere run around 5 to 6 procedures a week. At Hair Club, Lahore, we run 12 to 15 procedures a week, so the same real-world exposure that would take 3 months at an average clinic can be achieved here in around 1 month.

Eligibility & background

Do I need a background in dermatology or plastic surgery?
No. Modern hair transplant technique doesn't require a dermatology or plastic surgery background. That said, prior experience in either can shorten the duration of your programme, since some fundamentals will already be familiar to you.
What if I'm starting completely from scratch?
That's fine — we train doctors with no prior hair transplant experience. Fresh graduates with no relevant background typically go through the full 3-month programme; doctors with relevant surgical exposure (wound closure technique, surgical ward experience, etc.) may need less time. Send your CV and we'll advise.
